Through Solace, your plan members can access medical advice and learn about alternative treatment plans for their situation. A global database of 50,000 peer-ranked specialists is available to help arrange care with the world's top experts and facilities for the specific medical condition.
Solace is able to offer these services through co-operation with Best Doctors®, one of the most respected and comprehensive medical service companies in the world.
Coverage for treatment
If a plan member decides to seek treatment outside of Canada, Solace will pay for approved treatment up to $1 million. An additional amount of up to $10,000 is provided for travel and accommodation expenses for treatment outside of Canada.
If the plan member decides to seek treatment within Canada, he or she receives a lump sum of $25,000 to use in any way he or she wishes.
Coverage terminates once the benefit for the first covered illness has been paid. However, access to Best Doctors' service component continues for life, provided usage relates to the formerly covered condition. Any unrelated conditions are excluded from coverage.

- Aortic surgery
- Benign brain tumour
- Cancer (life threatening)
- Coronary artery bypass surgery
- Heart valve replacement
- Kidney failure (end stage renal disease)
- Major organ transplant and major organ failure while on waiting list
- Motor Neuron Disease
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Parkinson’s Disease
