Healthcare for Temporary, New and Returning Canadian Residents: Welcome Plan
Recognizing the skills and fresh perspectives a diverse workforce offers, you may have ventured outside Canada to find the right people for your organization.
Welcoming these individuals and helping them feel at home in our country is important, but ensuring they have adequate healthcare coverage can be a challenge. Basic provincial government health insurance coverage may not be available until they satisfy a waiting period.
Through Welcome Plan, you can help ensure these individuals and their families receive healthcare coverage while in Canada. Table Start
Solutions That Fit Your Needs
- Allows new and returning Canadian residents to receive healthcare benefits
- Helps welcome individuals and their families to Canada
- Requires no deductible payment for plan members to receive benefits
Table End
Welcome Plan provides eligible plan members and their families with coverage for expenses that would normally qualify for reimbursement under the provincial health plan. This includes services such as visits to the doctor, lab services, hospital ward accommodations, eye exams, emergency dental services and more. Your existing group benefits plan then supplements the Welcome Plan coverage.
Welcome Plan pays 100 per cent of covered expenses incurred while the plan member is insured, to a maximum of $1 million per individual in a lifetime. There is no deductible.
Welcome Plan coverage includes:
- Physician services
- Hospital services
- Ambulance services
- Eye exams
- Home nursing care
- Dentalcare
- Out-of-country and out-of-province coverage
