Solutions That Fit Your Needs
- Maintains a single case manager throughout the disability
- Helps minimize the investment in resolving claims
- Helps ensure claims are handled according to your plan’s terms
Table End
With each disability, a case manager is assigned to quarterback a disability management team that focuses on timely information gathering and claims assessment. This helps ensure your plan members get quick access to their disability benefits, and minimizes the investment in resolving claims by avoiding the collection and expense of unnecessary reports and documentation.
The case manager studies the details of the claim to gain insight into its complexity and validity within the parameters of your plan. If the claim is declined, the plan member is informed of the reasons and of his or her options for what to do next. If the claim is approved, the claim management process begins.
The initial assessment assists in planning for managing the claim. For maximum efficiency, claims investigations activities are tailored to the circumstances of the individual claim.
Seamless management and expert resources
Our disability management approach allows the dedicated case manager to co-ordinate all aspects of a claim from when it is received, through recovery and return to work. This helps to ensure that claims are managed consistently and proactively, and the unique circumstances of each disability are taken into account.
Long-term disability considerations are assessed early in the process, to help meet the goal of safe, early returns to work wherever possible. This process helps ensure disabled employees receive timely information and the support they need.
With complex cases, the goal is to apply more resources where there is good expectation an early return to work may be achieved. Two primary resources the case manager may call upon are our Medical Co-ordination and Vocational Rehabilitation Consulting services.
