Supporting CancerCare Manitoba’s Challenge for Life
Winnipeg, March 8, 2009 – Great-West Life believes in building stronger communities together. For nearly 8 decades, the company’s commitment to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, and its predecessor, the Manitoba Cancer Treatment and Research Foundation, has been unwavering.
Recognizing the Challenge for Life as a unique event that combines fundraising, prevention strategies and disease awareness, Great-West Life has made this event its premiere Manitoba cancer fundraiser.
“When it seems every one of us can tell a personal cancer story, the Challenge for Life presents a great opportunity to help tackle cancer’s societal impact on multiple fronts,“ said Jan Belanger, Assistant Vice-President, Community Affairs for Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life. “As sponsors, volunteers and direct participants, that’s the kind of story Great-West Life and its staff and financial security advisors want to help write by supporting the Challenge for Life.”
In preparation for this year’s event, the team from Great-West Life, aptly named Heroic Feet, is planning a number of team fundraisers including 50/50 draws, bake sales and prize raffles.
Great-West Life is proud to support the Challenge for Life through The Key to Giving™, its national corporate citizenship program. As June 13 approaches, Great-West Life applauds the energy and the leadership of its staff and financial security advisors participating in this important cause, and the commitment of everyone involved with the Challenge for Life.
