Speech delivered by Émile Arbour, Regional Director of The Resource Centre for Great-West Life in Laval Rive Nord

September 29, 2009 - Laval

Thank you. It’s an honour to attend this ceremony.

As a leading provider of life and health insurance, Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life take special interest in supporting innovative programs that address the health and wellness concerns of Canadians.

Enhancing our collective ability to share knowledge, particularly in the field of medical research, is an essential element in building stronger, healthier communities together. That’s why a significant portion of our corporate funding through The Key to Giving™, our national corporate citizenship program, supports students and researchers at medical and research institutions, including Institut Armand-Frappier.

Both locally and internationally, Institut Armand-Frappier is renowned for its biomedical expertise. The work done here by researchers today will benefit Canadians in the long term by increasing our understanding of major health concerns including cancer, heart disease, diabetes and mental health.

Congratulations to today’s scholarship recipient. You’ve demonstrated great commitment to adding to our collective understanding of medicine.

On behalf of Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life, I wish you continued success in your research.

Thank you.
