Through the Key to Giving™, Great-West Life was the premier sponsor of the 2010 Manitoba International Marketing Competition, January 6-10. The event helps prepare marketing students for challenges in the business world and provides them with an opportunity to meet and learn from business students studying elsewhere in North America and around the world.

Representatives of Great-West Life participated as judges for the case competition and delivered remarks at the event's reception and banquet.

Speech delivered by Paul Cordwell, Employee Benefits Specialist with The Resource Centre for Great-West Life in Winnipeg

January 7, 2010 – Winnipeg

Good evening. My name is Paul Cordwell, and on behalf of Great-West Life, welcome to the Manitoba International Marketing Competition for 2010. The Competition is a pleasure to attend for all of us who appreciate well-conceived marketing campaigns and yes, good-natured rivalry. With so many teams of bright and driven students putting their academic capabilities and business acumen to the test against their peers from around the world, I know this is going to be an exciting weekend.

As a leading financial services provider, Great-West Life is proud to be a premier sponsor of this event through our national corporate citizenship program. The marketing principles, strategic decision-making and international perspectives put into play here will help equip students with many of the skills essential for success in business.

In that spirit, I wish all of you great success over the next few days and in all of your academic and professional pursuits. Best of luck. Thank you.
