Optional Benefits

Sonata Health offers you flexibility by providing different levels of healthcare coverage, plus optional benefits you can add to most plans.

• Sonata Health Scales 1 – 4: Each of the following options is available as an add-on to your policy, to help you build the Sonata Health plan that’s best for you.
• Guaranteed Acceptance Plan (GAP): The ability to customize your coverage with optional benefits is not available with this plan. Instead, some of these additional benefits are already included as standard coverage under the GAP plan.

Hospital Accommodation Benefit

This benefit pays for the cost difference between a standard ward rate and semi-private accommodation.

Emergency Travel Medical Benefit

This benefit can help protect you against high medical care costs while traveling outside Canada.

Accidental Death, Dismemberment and Specific Loss Benefit

This benefit provides you with added financial security if you or your dependants are faced with death or injury due to an accident.

Hospital Cash Benefit

If you’re faced with an extended hospital stay, this benefit provides extra spending money that can help make your stay as comfortable as possible. This benefit is not available under the GAP plan.
