Investment Philosophy
Brandes is a bottom-up, Graham & Dodd, value investment manager. In short, they believe that buying businesses at a discount to their true value is designed to produce superior long-term results with below average risk.
Investment Process
Brandes uses an Investment Committee structure to manage portfolios. The membership of their investment committees is designed to include senior professionals with experience across all aspects of the investment process, as well as senior analysts who have a more industry-focused experience. Each committee has 5 or more senior investment professionals who act as voting members. Investment decisions are made on a consensus basis and implemented in portfolios on a firmwide basis.
The firm’s 30+ research analysts are organized by global industry teams and each analyst will typically have responsibility for one or more sub-sectors. Equity analysts work on behalf of all equity products and are responsible for presenting company valuation reports to all the investment committees.
